What is a good browser FPS?
A stable frame rate close to the display refresh rate generally looks smooth, but consistency matters as much as the average. Large drops or poor 1% lows can make animation feel stuttery even when the average looks high.
Why does browser FPS drop or stutter?
Heavy tabs, battery saver, background apps, thermal throttling, GPU scheduling and the browser's rendering workload can all create long frames. Compare with fewer background processes and a lower test load.
Does a 144 Hz monitor guarantee 144 FPS?
No. Refresh rate describes how often the display can update, while FPS describes how often the browser renders frames. A 144 Hz display can show lower FPS if the application or system cannot render fast enough.
Does this show my Fortnite, Valorant or CS2 FPS?
No. It measures frame timing inside this browser test only. A normal web page cannot read FPS from an unrelated running game.
What does 1% low FPS mean here?
It summarizes the slowest one percent of sampled frame rates and helps show stutter that an average FPS number can hide.
