Spacebar Clicker
Count physical Space presses over timed rounds while ignoring held-key repeat events.
How to use this test
Pick a timed round, focus the test and tap Space as quickly as you can. The duration locks during the run and held-key repeat events are ignored.
How the measurement works
Only physical Space keydown events with event.repeat set to false are counted. Total presses are divided by the completed round length to calculate presses per second.
How to interpret results
Short rounds measure burst tapping while 10- to 60-second rounds show sustained rhythm. Compare the same duration when testing keyboards or techniques.
Troubleshooting tips
If taps are missed, keep the page focused and try another keyboard or USB port. Browser shortcuts and assistive keyboard settings can affect very rapid input.

Common spacebar questions
How fast can I press the spacebar?
Use the same timed round for every attempt and compare presses per second. Short tests show burst speed, while longer rounds show rhythm and endurance more clearly.
Read full answer →Why does holding Space not increase the score?
The test deliberately ignores event.repeat so an operating-system key-repeat stream cannot inflate the result. Only genuine physical keydown presses count toward the score.
Read full answer →Why are some spacebar presses missed?
Very fast tapping can expose keyboard matrix limits, switch behavior, browser focus problems or USB/Bluetooth issues. Keep the test focused and compare another keyboard or connection if misses are repeatable.
Read full answer →Does holding the spacebar increase the score?
No. Repeated keydown events generated by holding the key are ignored, so the score is based on separate physical presses.
