Start a local microphone test with live level, waveform and device label where available.
How to use this test
Click Start Microphone Test, approve browser permission and speak at a normal level. Watch the waveform and live level, then press Stop when finished.
How the measurement works
MediaDevices provides a local audio stream and the Web Audio analyser reads time-domain samples. The waveform is drawn on canvas and no recording is intentionally uploaded by the tool.
How to interpret results
A moving waveform confirms that the browser receives microphone input. Consistently tiny levels can indicate a muted/wrong input or low system gain rather than a website problem.
Troubleshooting tips
Check browser and OS microphone permissions, select the correct default input and close other apps that may hold exclusive access. Reconnect USB headsets before retrying.
