Keyboard questions, fixes and result guides.
Practical answers for common keyboard problems, confusing results and setup questions — with a direct path back to the live test.
How do I check if every keyboard key works?
Start keyboard capture mode and press keys one at a time while watching the virtual layout. Test left and right modifiers separately, toggle Num Lock for the keypad and remember that some system shortcuts never reach a web page.
Why do some F-keys still trigger browser or system actions?
Operating systems and browsers reserve certain shortcuts at a level that normal web pages cannot always suppress. The tester intercepts keys where standards allow it, but a few combinations remain outside page control.
What is keyboard rollover and can a browser test it?
Rollover describes how many simultaneous key presses a keyboard can report correctly. A browser can display many keydown states, but system shortcuts and browser interception mean it is not a laboratory NKRO certification.
Why do I need to click Start Keyboard Test first?
Capture mode limits normal browser actions while you test keys, so F-keys and many shortcuts can be observed without immediately triggering Find, Refresh or other browser behavior.
Can the tester block every Windows or browser shortcut?
No. The page prevents default actions for key events it receives, but a few operating-system or browser-reserved shortcuts may be handled before a web page can intercept them.
Does this test measure keyboard rollover?
It can show combinations the browser receives, but it is not a certified USB rollover analyzer and browser/OS event handling can affect simultaneous-key observations.
How accurate is this keyboard tool?
System shortcuts, browser shortcuts and some special function keys may not reach the page.
What should I do if the keyboard result looks wrong?
Start capture mode before testing function or shortcut keys, try both left and right modifiers, toggle Num Lock when checking the keypad and compare another browser for keys reserved by the operating system. Some OS/browser-reserved shortcuts cannot be suppressed by any web page.
