TOUCHSCREEN TESTS · HELP & TROUBLESHOOTING

Multi-Touch questions, fixes and result guides.

Practical answers for common multi-touch problems, confusing results and setup questions — with a direct path back to the live test.

01
Benchmarks

How many simultaneous touches should my screen support?

The supported count depends on the touchscreen hardware and operating system. The browser test reports the maximum simultaneous touch pointers it actually receives during your session.

02
Fix a problem

Why does multi-touch work with two fingers but not more?

The digitizer may have a hardware limit, the operating system or browser may expose fewer pointers, or gestures can interfere. Test with clean fingers and keep them separated on the active surface.

03
Explain it

Does the multi-touch test count a stylus?

No. The tool counts touch pointer types so pen and mouse input do not inflate the finger-touch result.

04
Explain it

What does Maximum Detected mean?

It is the largest number of simultaneous touch pointers the browser received during this session, not necessarily the manufacturer's theoretical maximum.

05
Explain it

Are pen and mouse pointers counted as touches?

No. The test counts only pointerType touch so the result represents finger-style touchscreen input.

06
Explain it

How accurate is this multi-touch tool?

Maximum touch support depends on hardware, browser and operating-system touch drivers.

07
Fix a problem

What should I do if the multi-touch result looks wrong?

Try a slower placement of fingers, keep them separated and retest in another browser. Mouse and pen pointers are intentionally excluded from the touch count.
