How do I test for dead zones on a touchscreen?
Drag a finger slowly across every grid region and repeat any area that does not respond. A physical region that fails consistently across repeated passes and other apps is more meaningful than one missed cell.
Why does the touchscreen test ignore my mouse?
The tool deliberately accepts touch pointers only. Allowing normal mouse clicks would create a false pass on a device whose physical touch sensor is not working.
Can a screen protector affect touchscreen response?
Thick, damaged or poorly fitted protectors can sometimes reduce touch sensitivity or create difficult edge interactions. Compare results with normal device apps before concluding the digitizer is defective.
Can I test the touchscreen with a mouse?
No. Mouse input is deliberately ignored because clicking with a mouse would not validate the physical touch sensor.
Does one missed grid cell prove the touchscreen is broken?
No. Repeat the sweep carefully and compare other apps. A consistently unresponsive physical region is more meaningful than one missed pass.
