Mouse Tests

Scroll Speed Test

Test mouse wheel or trackpad scroll input with challenge and free diagnostic modes.

Why results may vary

Different browsers, trackpads and mouse drivers scale scroll delta differently.

How to use this test

Choose the 5-second challenge or free diagnostic mode, place the pointer over the test field and scroll using the wheel or trackpad. The tool normalizes browser wheel units before calculating rates.

How the measurement works

WheelEvent deltas can be reported as pixels, lines or pages. The test normalizes deltaMode values, counts wheel events and reports normalized movement per second, peak event delta and direction changes.

How to interpret results

Events per second describes input frequency while normalized pixels per second represents scroll activity. Trackpads and wheel mice can still feel different, so compare like-for-like devices rather than treating the number as a universal hardware benchmark.

Troubleshooting tips

Use the same browser and OS scroll settings for comparisons. Smooth-scrolling extensions, accessibility settings and precision touchpads can change event size and cadence.
